The MISC-WG Energy under the Majlis Perancangan Tenaga Manusia dan Pekerjaan (MPTMP) is an advisory and steering platform for manpower planning and competence development for the energy sector. The committee that was established in August 2019 drives effective, efficient and sustainable employment through the development of a standardised Competency Development Framework for the energy sector. This is done through strong collaborative partnerships, and networks and bridging the energy industry, policymakers, regulators, learning institutions and training organisations.​

A programme developed through a close collaboration between the Energy Industry with the support of the MISC Working Group for Energy together with Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE). The iSkill programme, offered in IBTE, features a robust competence development framework for the energy sector which is aligned to the industry requirements and expectations for the local workforce. The ecosystem around this programme provides a comprehensive review of the training and competency standards, certification and assessment requirements including an emphasis on the in-role development in the industry with exposure to the real work environment. Skill modules in the programme have also been mapped to recognised international standards.

MISC-WG Energy
  
An upskilling and reskilling programme for private local employees and i-Ready apprentices in the energy sector, specifically in the skill domains of Marking & Fitting, Scaffolding, Rigging and Blasting & Painting. Participants of the programme will be awarded with the Brunei National Occupational Skills Standards (BNOSS) approved Industry Skills Certificate (ISC) qualification after undergoing training with Registered Training Organizations (RTOs) and on-the-job training with the respective participating employers/organizations. Developed by the MISC-WG Energy, the programme is conducted by the Lifelong Learning Centre (L3C) with the Majlis Perancangan Tenaga Manusia dan Pekerjaan (MPTMP)​ as its main sponsor and IBTE as the awarding organization.​

SkillsHub, an initiative developed by the MISC-WG Energy, L3C and industry players, is a regulated centralized one-stop information platform which brings together the supply of trainings from the industry operators, training providers and companies that are recognized by the industry. It aims to provide lifelong learning opportunities for Brunei’s workforce to attain the highest possible professional development through affordable and accessible quality training and training facilities with the support from close industry collaboration.
