The MISC-WG Energy under the Manpower Planning and Employment Council (MPEC) is an advisory and steering platform for manpower planning and competence development for the energy sector. The committee that was established in August 2019 drives effective, efficient and sustainable employment through the development of a standardised Competency Development Framework for the energy industry. This is done through strong collaborative partnerships, and networks and bridging the energy industry, policymakers, regulators, learning institutions and training organisations.

Competence-based qualification developed by industry's subject matter experts and the IBTE competence and assessment development technical test. iSkill programme is specific to augment the employability gap in the Oil & Gas sector as it prescribes a higher level of skill-based competence assessment. Skill standards and assessments specifications are retrospectively mapped to a recognised international standard equivalence, emphasis on training delivery and assessment methodology. Development of these qualifications is vetted through a skills consultant and the efficiency to be monitored by MISC WG Energy.
